I’ve updated the project page NEST, to include better installation views of my exhibition that just opened in Toronto: ‘21st Century Nesting Practices.’
If you’d like to have a look – and read something about the ideas behind the body of work as a whole – you’ll find it all by clicking on the nest here:
Love the framing of these, and the grids. Fab work.
Thanks Deanne! I’m more than a little in love with grids, squares, and circles. Might have something to do with a combination of life on the Prairies and living in a gridded city … the shapes are part of my reality in a very fundamental way. The nests are almost all shot in highly urban locales, so the birds are making the best of that gridded space too! And underlying it all is my fascination with the human propensity to categorize – to attempt to put things into neat little boxes …
amazing engaging moving exquisite work!
Thanks Cath – some inspiration and beauty from your end of the world went into all of this too!
